1920s Art Deco Silver and Lilac Guilloché Comb and Mirror Set
Art Deco sterling silver comb and mirror featuring lilac enamel guilloché work. The comb and mirror fit in the original purple leather case, which is fully lined and has separate compartments for the mirror and comb. The case closes with a metal snap, it has some fading and wear. The round mirror is diameter 5.4cm, and has a stunning lilac guilloché back which is in very good condition, and a delightful art deco design handle, the mirror itself has become foxed over time.
The early plastic comb is length 9.3cm by width 2.7cm and is decorated on both sides with lilac guilloché. The sterling silver on both the mirror and comb is stamped AJ. This London maker imported items from around 1927 to 1936, and there is also the London import mark. The stamp 925 is for sterling silver, and the letter N dates the items to 1928. The mirror rim is stamped with the import mark and 925. The sterling silver has some scratches. This is a beautiful vintage silver and guilloché mirror and comb set from the Art Deco period.
