1960s Italian Teak Wall Unit by Vittorio Dassi for Dassi

1960s Italian Teak Wall Unit by Vittorio Dassi for Dassi

£ 1650

A stunning and difficult to source 1950s/1960s Italian freestanding wall unit designed by Vittorio Dassi and manufactured by Dassi Milano.  The unit is made from teak, brass details, laminate, glass and black painted metal. The unit comprises of three-sections -  3 shelves, chest of drawers, magazine rack, drinks bar, small cupboard and a shelving unit which are all supported by 4 vertical beautifully shaped uprights.  The uprights stand on teak supporting rails with small brass round adjustable feet. Each part is suspended on solid brass screws with round feature brass washers in between.

Dimensions: Overall: W: 210cm D: 40cm H: 203cm

The two RHS sections are 60cm wide.  The bar area is 75cm wide.

There are lots of storage options as well as areas to display your objets d'art.  A wonderful Japanese laminated frieze with a lady reclining and fanning herself under a tree in a garden with Pagoda in the background is on the door of one side of the lockabe bar.  The other has a metal leg which falls down into place when the table is pulled down to support it.  Inside it's white laminate with glass shelving on the inside of the door and a small light to illuminate it inside.  A useful and multi-functional piece. The unit is in its original vintage condition and has some marks and signs of wear to the heavily lacquered surface.  The brass has lost some of its patina.  Please look at the images carefully.  None of the hardware is missing. It does take two people to put together and will be transported dismantled.  I will leave all the hardware in place in the supporting columns.  It also cannot be split up because each section relies on the other to keep it upright.
