For me, Alfies is all about indulgence. As a creative person, you want to be bombarded with different things, and in Alfies every step you take, your eye is flooded with images; vintage clothes, trains, magazines, articles from Vogue, lovely furniture particularly from the 1950's, contemporary pieces, paintings, ceramics. Since I like to collect ceramics and furniture, since I'm in the fashion business, it's all there for the taking. So I would say it's a regular haunt for me maybe four or five times a year. I recommend The Quad section where Andreas Schmid has a superb selection of iconic 20th-Century design.
