| Ian began collecting kitsch items from the 1930’s-50’s as a hobby, but when his house became full he decided to sell various bits and pieces at country fairs.
He began to enjoy these fairs, eventually progressed on to larger fairs and then, five years ago, moved to Alfies. He did very well and continues to fill his stand to the brim with kitsch items from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Ian’s items are not the usual “designer” goods one might be thinking. He sells quirky goods, lighting, record players, radios and general household items from the eras mentioned above such as fabrics and picnic sets. The original bakelite door fittings, which he believes are his most unusual items, are quite difficult to find.
